A Program for People With Diabetes and Their Families

Now is the time to take charge of your diabetes.

What is Dining with Diabetes?
  • A free program for people with diabetes and their family members.
  • A series of classes that are held once a week for four weeks.
  • Classes include diabetes education, nutrition, recipe demonstrations, and samples of each recipe prepared.
Who are the instructors?

Classes are taught by local county Extension Educators and diabetes health professionals, such as Registered Dietitians and Certified Educators.

Where are classes held?

Dining with Diabetes classes are held throughout West Virginia in locations that are accessible and convenient.

Locations include churches, schools, senior centers, clinics, hospitals, vocational-technical centers, and community centers.


When are the classes?

Extension Educators try to schedule classes at the best times for people in their county.  Classes are usually held in spring or fall.  the day of the week and the time of day may vary from county to county.

How do I enroll?
  • There is no charge to attend Dining with Diabetes; however, you must attend all four class sessions and a follow-up session that will be held three months later.
  • Dining with Diabetes programs are organized by county Extension educators. contact your WVU county Extension office to find out when the next Dining with Diabetes class will be offered in your area.
