NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING

OF THE SUMMERS COUNTY COMMISSION

     Jerry E. Berry, President, with concurrence of Commissioners Bill Lightner and Jack David Woodrum, has called a Special Meeting of the Summers County Commission on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 2:30 p.m.

The purpose of the Special Meeting is as follows:

     1.  Opening of sealed bids for a vehicle

     2.  Consideration of an award of bid

LEGAL NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS

On February 1, 2012 at 3:00 p.m., the Summers County Commission will meet at the Summers County Courthouse for the purpose of reviewing and equalizing tax assessments for the current year.

Taxpayers are further notified that additional sessions of this meeting will begin on the following dates and times and continue as necessary until the review is completed on February 17, 2012.  Appointments may be arranged by contacting the Commission Office at (304) 466-7100.  Taxpayers with Mineral and Industrial issues are requested to make appointments for February 1, 2012 session.

February 1, 2012 Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.

February 6, 2012 Monday at 10:00 a.m.

February 8, 2012 Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.

February 10, 2012 Friday at 10:00 a.m.

February 14, 2012 Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.

February 17, 2012 Friday at 10:00 a.m.

West Virginia Code 11-3-24 states if any person fails to apply for relief at this meeting, he shall have waived his right to ask for correction for his assessment list for the current year and shall not thereafter be permitted to question the correctness of his list as finally fixed by the County Commission except on appeal to the Circuit Court.  This meeting is limited to questions of property values only and questions as to classification or consolidation cannot be considered or acted on at this meeting.

The Summers County Commission meets in Regular Session on the first and third Monday's of the month a 9:00 a.m. in the County Commission Office; Summers County Courthouse, 120 Ballengee Street, Hinton, West Virginia.
